Helping organisations structure information before they invest in technology.
Consulting on information architecture, decision systems and operational design — a foundation for reporting, automation and better decisions.
Reporting is usually the visible symptom, not the underlying problem.
Many organisations believe they have a reporting problem. In reality, reporting is often only what surfaces first.
The underlying challenge is usually information architecture, fragmented processes, unclear ownership or inconsistent KPI definitions.
My work focuses on understanding those foundations before recommending technology or automation. New tools only pay off when the structure they sit on is clear.
Where I typically help
The structure that makes business data consistent, traceable and ready to build on — before any dashboard or automation.
- Information architecture
- Data ownership
- Data quality
- Business terminology
- Master data
- Reporting consistency
- Documented information architecture
- Data ownership map with named owners
- Business glossary of key terms
- Reconciliation guide for conflicting numbers
- Multiple spreadsheets telling different stories
- Inconsistent reports across teams
- Numbers that don't reconcile
- Unclear who owns which data
Typically 2–4 weeks. A kick-off workshop, hands-on collaboration with your team on documentation, and a written architecture document with a handover walkthrough at the end.
Two ways to start
Every engagement above is scoped to your situation in a first conversation. Two easy entry points:
Discovery Session — 30 minutes
A short follow-up conversation after you complete the diagnostic. We walk through your results together, agree on the main constraint, and outline where to start — no obligation to continue.
Discovery Workshop — 90 minutes
A structured session to map the current situation from the ground up — for when you don't have a specific problem yet, or want a fresh outside read before deciding what to change.
Start on your own
Two things you can do today, before any conversation.
Business Diagnostic
A short, self-guided version of the first consulting conversation. 12 questions across process clarity, data quality and decision-making. At the end you get a structured read on your main constraint and a prioritised view of where to start — no sign-up, no email required. Use it on your own, or as a starting point for a discovery session.
Start assessmentBusiness Discovery Workbook
A practical workbook that helps you document your current processes, reporting, information flows and operational challenges before we speak. Doing this on your own is worthwhile — even without a session it clarifies where the real friction is.

Do I need new software?
Usually not. Most engagements start with the tools you already have — understanding how information moves, how decisions get made, and where the friction is. New software is a valid answer to some problems, but it should come after the underlying structure is clear, not before.
Do you build dashboards?
Yes — as part of a decision system, not as a standalone deliverable. A dashboard is only useful if the underlying metrics are agreed on, the source data is trusted, and someone actually uses it to decide. We define those first, then build the reporting around them.
Can you work with existing systems?
Yes. Most engagements involve improving how existing systems and spreadsheets connect and how the information they produce is used. Full replacement is rarely necessary — and rarely the fastest way to progress.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. Based in Trondheim, Norway; working remotely with organisations across Norway and internationally. Occasional on-site sessions in the Trondheim area are possible when useful.
How does a discovery session work?
Typically a 60–90 minute conversation about your current reporting, information flows and where decisions get made. Before the session you go through the Business Discovery Workbook (linked above) — it takes ~30 minutes and makes the conversation twice as useful. After the session you get a written summary with the main constraints and recommendations for next steps.
Still not sure where the real problem is?
Start with the free diagnostic, or reach out for an introductory conversation. No pressure to commit to anything beyond that.
